About Spell-Reading

Spell-reading is an effective tool for teaching non-readers how to read. It is an essential part of the Noorani Qa'idah program, from beginning to end.


The Noorani Qai'dah program features a balance of both spell-reading and reading-without-spell-reading. 


Sometimes it might be tempting to drop the spell-reading part, especially as the student gains facility in reading without spell-reading.


However, spell-reading should not be dropped along the way before the program has been completed.


Spell-reading not only teaches how to read, it provides a tool for integrating the tajweed rules into the same process -- i.e. how to read with tajweed altogether.


So, there is no need to first learn how to read Arabic, and then go back again and learn how to read Arabic with proper tajweed.


Further, using the spell-reading tool eliminates the problem of "guessing" when reading from the Mushaf (Qur'an).


Even after the Noorani Qai'dah program has been completed and the student is reading from the Mushaf, he or she will come across a difficult or unfamiliar word or phrase, especially in the beginning.


At that point, if the spell-reading tool has been mastered, it can still be used with confidence to figure out how to accurately read - with tajweed - any word or phrase in the Mushaf.

On the other hand, students who have not learned how to spell-read the entire Noorani Qai'dah book will often resort to guessing - and unfortunately often guessing wrong - in such a situation.

Again, the Noorani Qai'dah program features a balance of both spell-reading and reading-without-spell-reading. We urge teachers and students using this program to keep up the spell-reading part until the very end of the program.

Fundraiser for the Noorani school

We hope you and your families are safe and with firm iman after Tuesday's earthquake. Let us use this reminder in the last 10 nights of Ramadan to thank Allah Almighty, seek His forgiveness, give sadaqah, and be good to our families, Muslims and all humanity.

There will be a fundraiser for the Noorani school tomorrow, Thursday, after 'Isha prayer (9:30pm) at the Shirley Gate road masjid, inshaAllah. 

We hope you and your families will come to show support for Sheikh ar Raee's school. One of Sheikh's young students will recite, and after the fundraiser sheikh will lead the taraweh prayers.

The added/changed hours have 2 purposes inshaAllah:

1) Giving more time for students to cover the material, and also to recite to the sheikh and receive correction

2) On Aug. 20 and 27, sheikh will be doing qiyam al layl as well as taraweh, so we are changing class time for him so he can get some rest.

Natural Healing (Ruqiya) Session in Ramadan

A natural healing (ruqiya) session with Sheikh ar Raee will be held during Ramadan on Friday, August 19, starting promptly at 6:30pm inshaAllah. The session will be at the Shirley Gate Rd. masjid in Fairfax, VA.Those who would like to participate in this free natural healing session are welcome. 


The ruqiya sessions are not connected with the learning center and its classes -- we are only providing this information as a community service for your interest and benefit.

They are working on preparing a detailed documentary 

explaining what we as Muslims do during Ramadan in the 

USA.

The Global Qur’an Memorization Academy is Offering Ijazza (certification) in Qur’an Memorization

With the connected chain of narration to Prophet Mohammad

Program Introduction

This program is for students who already completed the Memorization of the Holy Quran and who wish to obtain an Ijazza (i.e. License), with Isnaad (i.e. chain of narration to Prophet Muhammad, peace and prayers be upon him).

An Ijazza is a certification given to an individual upon proving excellence and mastery in Qur’an memorization, recitation and pronunciation.

Ijazza type

The program is offering two types of Ijazza (certification):

1)      Ijazza for the narration of Hafs ‘An ‘Aasim from the method of Ash-Shaatibiyyah

2)      Ijazza for the narration of Hamami ‘An’ Alfeel from the method  of Tayebat Annashr with Qasr Al-Munfasil

Program Duration: one month

The program will meet four days per week for four hours per day starting July 2^nd through July 30^th.

Prerequisites

• Memorization of the entire Qur’an

• It is preferred, although not required, to have passed tajweed courses, or to know the tajweed poem by Imaam Al-Jazari

• It is preferred, although not required, to know chapters two & three from Minhaj Al-Muslim book

• It is preferred, although not required, to know the merits of the Qur’an

Program Details

1)      Each student is expected to recite the Qur’an from cover to cover, during this month to the instructor.

2)      Each student’s Qur’an recitation will be evaluated accordingly by the Sheikh.  Based on the outcome of this evaluation, students will either be admitted directly into the Ijazza program, or they will be assigned additional studies to further improve their recitation, and to qualify for admission.  This might include studying Tajweed.

3)      The Sheikh will assign the time for each student to listen to his/her Qur’an recitation.

4)      The program is open to all students, males and females.

5)      Upon successful completion of the program, students will be issued the Ijazza reflecting that they met the requirements of the program, which permits them to teach.

Instructions:

• Students should commit to attendance according to their individual schedules.

• Students should commit to reciting the amount that is allocated for them.

• Students must take the time to review with partners in class before they recite to the sheikh, to ensure minimum number of mistakes.

Program Fees

$1,500.00 for the entire program paid in three installments ($500 x 3).
