Salah Workshop update

A reminder about the Salah Workshop scheduled before classes on Mondays, from 5pm - 6pm. Your child is welcome to join! 

On Saturdays from 6pm - 7pm, there is a continuation of the Salah Workshop, but we will only offer the Saturday session if there is enough interest. Please let the Administration know in person, or email NooraniLearningCenter@gmail.com

Children's Classes - Class As Usual Tomorrow Monday November 1st

Fairfax County Schools have a Teacher Work Day scheduled for Monday, November 1st. Please bear in mind that although public schools are off, we WILL have class as regularly scheduled tomorrow, in sha Allah.

Natural Healing (Ruqya) Session with Sheikh Ar Ra'ee this Saturday, October 30, in Maryland at 10:00 AM

“O mankind! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord (i.e. the Quran), and a healing for that which is in your hearts.” (Quran 10:57)

“And We send down from the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe...” (Quran 17:82)


A natural healing (ruqya) session from the Qur'an and sunnah, conducted by Sheikh ar Ra'ee, is scheduled for this Saturday, October 30th, starting promptly at 10:00am.

The session usually lasts for 1 hour. Those who would like to participate in the healing session are welcome, and there is no cost. Please plan to be there in plenty of time.

What you would need to bring:

Zam Zam water

Container of regular water (minimum 1 gallon)

Lotus leaf powder ("Sidr" powder - available in most halal grocery stores like Halalco)

Black seed 

Honey

Olive oil

(No specific quantities of the above items are needed, but bring at least a standard container of each -- for example, a bottle of honey, bottle of olive oil, a few jugs of zam zam)

Adult Classes Updates for Weekend of October 30 & 31

Al Qawa'id An Nooraniyah Teacher Training Class this Saturday, October 30, will start at 4pm and go to 9pm.

Please let us know if you will need child care for the extended class hours.

Tajweed Level 1 this Saturday, October 31, will be at its regular time from 6pm - 9pm.

If you can spare any time, please become a Noorani Learning Center volunteer!

We appreciate all the help we receive. Our team of dedicated volunteers keeps our programs running smoothly and supports the efforts of teachers and students of the holy Qur'an. 

Even if you think an effort is small, it can hold a big benefit!

Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to me, "Do not belittle any good deed, even your meeting your brother with a cheerful face."[Muslim].

وعن أبي ذرٍْ رضي الله عنه قال : قال لي رسول الله صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم «لاتَحقِرَنَّ مِنَ المعْرُوف شَيْئاً وَلَو أن تلقى أخاك بوجه طليق » رواه مسلم .

If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know your availability on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Right now, the busiest times for volunteers are before classes start and at the end of classes.  Please be aware that there may be quiet times with not much to do while classes are in session.

We need volunteers from about 4:30pm to 9pm -- but you do not have to stay for the whole time! Please let us know which times are better for you.

We need your help with:

-- Clean-Up

-- Tutoring and Supervision During Study Hall on Mondays

-- Photocopying

-- Advertising the Programs

We will also need help making Eid goody bags for the students and organizing the Graduation Party at the end of the semester.

Interested in a Pre-Class Study Hall/Salah Workshop for Kids on Mondays?

Dear Parents of Students in the Monday & Wednesday Children's Classes:

We have received some requests to teach the children salah and have an earlier drop off time. 

So parents, please let us know: Are you are interested in having your child attend a pre-class session on Mondays?

What: Study Hall & Salah Workshop -- Kids would do homework, get some light tutoring help, and receive training on how to make salah. 

When: Mondays only before class, starting at 5:00pm. Class would still start at 6pm and end at 8:30pm

Cost: $5 per child each Monday. 

(Students would have to pack a light dinner)

Class Updates for Noorani Qa'ida Teacher Training & Tajweed Level 1

Updates for this Weekend's Adult Classes:


A reminder for students that there will be no Noorani Qa'ida Teacher Training class this Saturday, October 16th. 

Please select one of these make-up classes:

1) This Friday (October 15) 6pm - 9pm

Or, for those who cannot attend the make-up class this Friday,

2) Saturday (October 23) -- make-up class starts at 4pm and then extends into the normal 6pm - 9pm class.

This Sunday's (October 17) Tajweed Level 1 class will still be held. It is important for students to attend.

Please review and practice the Tajweed rules covered by the sheikh on 10/10/10 in groups with the team leaders. 

Surat al Mulk will be used as the examination surah.

2) Tajweed Level 1 - understand, recognize, apply, and practice the Rules of Tajweed. Sundays, 6pm - 9pm until Dec. 5. Open for Brothers and Sisters.
