Fundraiser for the Noorani school

We hope you and your families are safe and with firm iman after Tuesday's earthquake. Let us use this reminder in the last 10 nights of Ramadan to thank Allah Almighty, seek His forgiveness, give sadaqah, and be good to our families, Muslims and all humanity.

There will be a fundraiser for the Noorani school tomorrow, Thursday, after 'Isha prayer (9:30pm) at the Shirley Gate road masjid, inshaAllah. 

We hope you and your families will come to show support for Sheikh ar Raee's school. One of Sheikh's young students will recite, and after the fundraiser sheikh will lead the taraweh prayers.

Tajweed Level 1 Schedule Update

Please note the new Tajweed Level 1 schedule:

-- Saturday, August 13, 11am - 3pm

-- Saturday, August 20, 1:30pm - 5:30pm

-- Saturday, August 27, 1:30pm - 5:30pm

-- 1 extra session (optional) day/time to be decided between sheikh and the class

The added/changed hours have 2 purposes inshaAllah:

1) Giving more time for students to cover the material, and also to recite to the sheikh and receive correction

2) On Aug. 20 and 27, sheikh will be doing qiyam al layl as well as taraweh, so we are changing class time for him so he can get some rest.

Natural Healing (Ruqiya) Session in Ramadan

A natural healing (ruqiya) session with Sheikh ar Raee will be held during Ramadan on Friday, August 19, starting promptly at 6:30pm inshaAllah. The session will be at the Shirley Gate Rd. masjid in Fairfax, VA.Those who would like to participate in this free natural healing session are welcome. 


The ruqiya sessions are not connected with the learning center and its classes -- we are only providing this information as a community service for your interest and benefit.

Taraweh Prayer Wednesday August 10

Sheikh ar Raee will start reciting from verse 112 of Surat At-Tawbah in Juz 10.

PBS TV DOCUMENTARY TAPING AT MASJID 

This THURSDAY InshaAllah

PBS we will be taping at the Shirley Gate masjid, interviewing Sheikh Ar Raee and filming the taraweh.  

They are working on preparing a detailed documentary 

explaining what we as Muslims do during Ramadan in the 

USA. 

The documentary is due out next year inshaAllah.

To register for any of our fall classes -- for children, teens, and adults -- please visit our registration table at the Shirley Gate masjid in Fairfax on Fridays during Ramadan:

• Jumuah prayers during Ramadan (starting at 11:30am)
• Friday evenings after maghrib prayer

(Prerequisite for Level 2, reading to the Sheikh)
